hi all, as i said in my intro thread, this will be my project progress thread.

i got the cat because when i took my bike to the ring last year, every lap was a seat of pants lap and if anything went even remotly wrong id have bit it, and looking at the cars and the people driving, it just seemed to be less stressful and a hell of a lot more fun, so... iv always had a soft spot for sx's and was instantly on the lookout for a project, i come across this one with a ND330 engine conversion done and ND330 front brakes fitted(R33 GTR Brembos)with all complementing parts too like suspension ect... so i went for it at £1800. got it home and started prodding around and found out that id had quite a bit of rust, but instead of re-shelling, i decided nows the time to learn how to weld and work on cars properly, so i got myself a mig welder and some steel, and went about it with my angle grinder, after a while id got the hang of it... a bit anyways Rolling Eyes
ill get some pics of the progress iv done so far and take some mroe this weekend.
feel free to comment, take the piss, and give input, it will all be appreciated Very Happy

So...i got it last september and have been sorting the rust out since then, im just about getting to the bottom of the rust, and this weekend should see it complete Cool

ill let the pics do the talking

    Dragging it home

yeah, theres a fair bit of work to be done, but this weekend (weather pending) should have it finished.

well with a bit of luck and good finances i should have it done by next summer...ish, but theres no deadline, but it would be nice to be able to take it to the ring next year though

Bit of an update, i do have pics but cant be arsed to get em off my phone cus im lazy Rolling Eyes

well, iv officially finished cutting the rust out and welding up, iv been spending the past few evening out with my angle grinder wire brushing the old crappy paint and surface rust from around my chassis rails whilst my boot floor is out wich makes thing soo much easier, iv acid etched them and finished the 2nd coat of hammerite tonight, so thats redy to be wax-oiled when i get round to it.

iv ordered some bits too, iv got a 25ft roll of 3/16 copper brake pipe and a boat load of fittings plus a nice little brake bias controller to plumb in too, im also about to order a set of rear camber, toe and traction arms (all rose-jointed) for when i remove my rear sub-frame and get it sand blasted and powder coated. my rear setup is going to be: solid bushed sub-frame, solid bushed diff, rose-jointed everything, Driftworks coilovers, and i think i might weld my diff just for the entertaining low speed parking noises and 10mph wet weather drifts Twisted Evil

whilst iv got the subby off ill be angle grinding all the paint and surface rust off and acid etching then hammerite and wax-oil, then when thats done ill be doing the brake line from the bios controller to the reat T piece, then i can get the subby back on and do the rest at a later date.

the coilovers will be one of the last things ill do cus they aint cheap!

but ounce the rear is all done and complete, ill start gathering parts for the fuel cell setup, iv gota re-make my boot floor and sink the tank atleast half way into it so its easy to build the firewall from the cabin... swirl pot, 2 external pumps 2 filters ect... all to be looking sexyfull in stainless everything and mounter properly

but i could do with the the engine out asap so i can finish up some of the patched i put on the inner arches

    all good fun Shocked
